Cardiff & the Vale NAS Branch

This website has been set up by Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan Branch of the National Autistic Society. We are an autism support group mainly run by parents of children on the autism spectrum. We all give of our time voluntarily. We formed in 2004 and can offer peer support and information-sharing in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Throughout the year we have coffee mornings, social evenings and fundraising events. At some meetings we have guest speakers and others are informal get-togethers for a chat.

We also run some workshops during the year and have an annual keynote speaker event. We have a comprehensive autism library of books and DVD’s which you can browse or borrow from. We bring these along to the coffee mornings. Anyone who has concerns and would like to know more about autism is welcome to our events. No diagnosis of autism is necessary.

The website is intended to signpost members to information and inform what meetings, workshops and seminars that may be taking place within the local area and may be of benefit to people touched by autism.

We also post local events and other useful information/links on our facebook  page .

We also have a closed Facebook group which you can join if you follow this link .

Our Branch is committed to raising awareness and understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorders in Cardiff and the Vale area. We are committed to equal opportunities for all people living with autism and we have and continue to develop a working partnership with professionals and with other voluntary organisations.

There is no annual subscription and, if you prefer to be contacted by email ,you can be entered on our database and receive regular information and notification about events happening in the Cardiff and the Vale area.
